Opie slurps down the Victory! Brody takes 2nd, Kirk outlasts Chad!
Last nights game offered several interesting story lines: 1) Chad busted out first early in the game when his pocket Jacks were crushed by Opie's pocket Aces. His abrupt demise has opened the door for others to see the light. Up until last night he had a 250pt lead on 90% of the field. 2) The Doctor was in!! Kirk had a strong showing and earned ER bragging rights for the week. He even took a huge pot off of Chad early in the game, when his "Hooks" caught Chad in the lip, trying to buy the pot with pocket nines. 3) Opie wins a big one. The deck was hot for Opie all night, he held monster after monster, and I don't believe he was ever sucked out. He was the wire to wire chip leader amassing a stack that was impenetrable. Brody had a equally impressive night quietly building a chip stack that would allow him to play heads up. The two played for about 10 minutes heads up with Opie squeaking out the win. It was a packed table, for the first time we had all 11 players in attendance. We will play next Monday night at Tom's at 7pm. It will be a big night as MNF has the Pats vs. Saints. Get your popcorn ready.....

After some major fireworks, and a blowup, Q takes week 4.
Well we only had 7 play last night but there was no shortage of drama. Chad's remarkable run of 4 in a row has come to an end, with a 2nd place finish no less. Aces were not friendly last night and were cracked twice late in the game. With 4 left to play and John holding A,A in the big blind. Chad raised to 150k in the small blind, John paused and then re-raised Chad all-in. After much deliberation, Chad called and flipped over 9,9 putting his run on the line. Q had folded an A,9, so John was an overwhelming favorite, but as Chad's luck has been running he spiked the case 9 to flop a set. John's chip stack and psyche were crushed. Chad was now had a huge stack with 3 to play. Not to be outdone, Harry doubled up twice late in the game, only to have his pocket Aces cracked by an ill timed all in shove from Q with Q,10. After Harry flipped over his Aces, Q slammed his remaining chips onto the table in disgust. Yet, low and behold, Harry happened to flop a set of Aces, which led to a rivered Str8 by Q. How quickly the game can change. Aces were sucked out 3 times on the night, all with unbelievable results. Heads up Chad and Q traded chips for about fifteen hands with Q building a small lead. The last hand found Chad limping in with A,10 to Q's pocket Jacks in the BB. Q made a small raise pre-flop, which Chad then re-raised to 500k, Q came over the top all-in leading to the games final showdown. Q's J,J held up dethroning Chad in the process. Chads run was a spectacle to say the least, and he was one more suckout away from 5 in a row. Nice job Chad. See ya next Tuesday Night at Q's 7pm.

Rumor has it.....
I have heard from several people that a certain someone is running their mouth about being unbeatable. Not naming names, but.........it starts with a "C" and ends with a "d". Could be anyone, I'm just saying. I think it also rhymes with "schmorning", just a hunch.... I would say bring your "A" game, but it has been proven the past few weeks that your "C" game and a lot of major sucking out go a long way. C-ya Tuesday. WE ARE "GUNNY"NG FOR YOU!!!!!

Next Game Tuesday @ 7pm at Brody's
Our next game will be tuesday night at Brody's. We will start at 7pm. On a side note, Just so everyone is clear with what's going on with our league. As an incentive to keep interest for the months to come, we need to calrify our "top 3". We have decided collectively that the top 2 spots will receive automatic entries into one of the events posted. From there we will have a playoff for the third spot at the end of our league. We will play it off like last time, with the higher you finish the more chips you will start with at the final table. Everyone will qualify(with a minimum of 75% participation throughout the league), and it will give players at the bottom of the pile a shot at making the trip. The top 2 can still play in that final table(will start mid stacked), but will only be able to win that nights kitty. ie)Top 2 finish 1/2 that night, 3rd place will go as our 3rd representative. See ya soon.

What a Run!!!!
Chad has been on the streak of all streaks winning 4 in a row. This week was no exception as he navigated the table for another impressive win. He once again made some good moves at the table and some questionable ones(10,8 call of Webby's all-in, only to hit a full house) nonetheless ending up on top. It has been a ramarkable run that started about 7 weeks ago. In 7 games, he has 6 cashes. A little luck and some solid play has him on top early in our league. His run will end soon, but very impressive just the same. We will be playing next Tuesday night at Brody's 7pm.

New Rules for our Home Game!!! Effective now.
After last nights game we need to address a major issue plaguing our weekly game. We have all been playing together for several years now which has led to some loose lips at the table and random chirps when not in the hand. For the sake of our game and what's at stake, we will have a few new rules regarding table talk.
1) There is to be no "Table Talk" by any player not in the hand.
2) If there are 3 or more players in a pot, there will be no table talk about the hand in progress by anyone at the table.
3) Heads up, only the players in the hand can discuss the action.
4) There will be no exposed hands, unless heads up.
5) No reaching for folded hands to show your buddy what you "would have flopped", no more comments about what you "would have flopped" period.
6) No more offering your opinion about a player's hand and what he could possibly have if your not in the hand.
These Rules will be enforced and the penalties are as follows: The penalty will be whatever the big blind is at the time of the infraction. Those chips will be taken out of play. If it so happens that someone is blatantly disregarding our rules he will be dismissed from that nights game, we all need to be accountable. We are trying to make our game as fair and competitive as possible. Lets all do our part in making it happen. We all take this a little more serious than your average home game, so its not too much to ask. See ya next week.

Chad wins again!! Exposed hand plays a big part!
Chad had another nice run finishing 1st, with John coming in 2nd. After an exposed hand allowed Chad to check, he saved a ton of chips in what surely would have been a big bet on the river. With John holding Quad 8's, Chad was aggressive throughout the hand betting and raising with Ace high on a seemingly harmless board. John held a couple of snowmen, and flopped a set. He slow played it nicely, Chad made big bets on the flop and turn, John smooth called. On the river is where it became shady. Jeff checked first to act, John checked, setting up Chad for a big check raise. Jeff showed Chad his hand while the action was still hot, Chad was getting ready to push in a big bet, but quickly threw on the breaks when he saw Jeff holding an Ace as well. It was a pivotal point which probably would have lead to Chad finishing 8th rather than 1st. It was an otherwise good game, but points out the fact we will install new game rules to follow.
